I have found this man so interesting that we have written about him numerous times, yet we keep learning more. We wrote about him in Frank Alec – Blockader Profile and we told a story about how he ignored the claim “Rape and death cover up by Molly Wickham and Frank Alec (chief Woos)” and then again in Wet’suwet’en Law – Becoming a Hereditary Chief and again in Office of the Wet’suwet’en inciting Domestic Terrorism and Chiefs in Crisis – Local Update and A question of Legitimacy in the Office of Wet’suwet’en as well as many many more articles.
He was front and centre in our story Stupid White Man and this is where we want to start our story today.
Drawing on our previous research we are reasonably assured that Frank Alec is not a true Wet’suwet’en but holds a status card that says he is Lake Babine Indian Band member after all he was born and raised as a Lake Babine Indian.
Frank Alec, you claim to be a Wet’suwet’en Hereditary Chief, please remove all doubt and show the media your Status Card. We know you use it every time you fill up with gas in order not to pay road tax.
As much as these protesters and anarchists hate these cards they would never leave home without them, they have many more advantages over MasterCard or Visa and none of them travel without it.
“The government and hereditary chiefs reached a deal after days of meetings in Smithers, B.C., it was Woos who spoke to the media, alongside senior government ministers. Trudeau had dispatched Carolyn Bennett, the federal minister of Crown-Indigenous relations, to meet with the Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs. She was joined there by her B.C. counterpart Scott Fraser.”Reports said the chiefs had invited Trudeau and B.C. Premier John Horgan to attend, but both declined. Elected chiefs were not in on the meetings. “As Wet’suwet’en, we are the land and the land is ours,” Woos said. “We’re not going to look at any alternative ways.”
So this is with his interchangeable hat he is now speaking as a “Wet’suwet’en Chief”?
The next three screen shots are during the same period of time when Frank Alec was negotiating for the Wet’suwet’en Nation only now he is wearing his Lake Babine Indian Band hat.
Clear evidence Frank Alec is serving two nations at the same time. Clear evidence he is wearing Two Hats at the same time.
So the point of this article is to find out who is he, is he Wet’suwet’en or Lake Babine Nation?
How can a man serve two masters? If he is serving both nations, how can he be loyal to either?
How can a man who is a very active member of the Lake Babine Indian Band suddenly negotiate with Canada and British Columbia on behalf of the Wet’suwet’en Hereditary Chiefs, and the Wet’suwet’en Nation, let alone explain how he became a Wet’suwet’en Hereditary Chief when all the rules indicate that is not even allowed. Everything here indicates that Frank Alec is actively working inside and with his own people, then magically switch hats when he deals with the Government of Canada or the Government of British Columbia and governments intel is so bad they do not even notice?
Would future generations not happy with the deal he signed on behalf of the Wet’suwet’en Nation be justified in claiming the signature was from a man who was not a legitimate Wet’suwet’en Hereditary Chief? His negotiations open a Pandora’s box of future litigation in regards to the legitimacy of any deal he negotiates.
We will get to the issue of legitimacy later in the article, now I wish to present to you Frank Alec’s own credentials as a member of the Lake Babine Indian Band who he negotiated for in the past, now consider land claims overlap ask the question in regards to who is he going to shaft? Is it the Wet’suwet’en Nation or the Lake Babine Indian Band? Read Wet’suwet’en Land Claims Overlap and question whose side is he on? How can one man decide for both nations, and if so is he the man to trust to do that job considering he also has a criminal background?
I fully understand the world and most of Canada right now is all focused on the truckers convoy, but that is OK, this is a question local Wet’suwet’en and the local Lake Babine Indian Band members need to be asking.
Look at the facts, the credentials Frank Alec himself posted on his own profile. Specifically note under the “Deputy Chief Lake Babine Nation” where he claims to be “Chief Negotiator” on “treaty developments”.
Ask yourself how could a Wet’suwet’en Hereditary Chief get a job looking after the affairs of the Lake Babine Nation, unless he was one of them? Are you going to suggest its like switching from a hot water tap to a cold water tap and that is whose side your on, or sometimes mixing the two together? How possibly can this not be seen as an extreme conflict of interest? How will overlapping land claims be dealt with when a man who has split loyalties does the negotiations?
Remember it was at the advice of Don Ryan, chief negotiator for the Gitxsan to the Office of Wet’suwet’en chiefs.
“The issues for us on the treaty table are a competing claim. You have people on the treaty table discussing these issues, and Carrier Sekanie is claiming the same thing in Prince George. The band councils are doing different things. We must sit and talk to them and bring everyone together. There will be tension on these fronts. You have a situation where pipelines and competing claims must be sorted out. The treaty process is not the right path for us. This process takes your title away from you. We need to be aggressive as to what we can do on the land. I can quickly take you through the treaty process. They have a formula and figure how much they will offer you in cash. Our neighbors in the Nass signed a treaty, speak to them and they will tell you the same story. $750,000 per person is what they will offer you. When they give you that money, you will not own the land. They will also offer you land and that will be around Moricetown. They also have a formula, one section of land. They are still trying to get you off the land. I’m interested in discussing the options with you.” Don Ryan 2009
How does the above not spell the words blockades, and bitter battles with industry that will frontline the news media across Canada? How does the above not spell the term “Land Defenders”?
The entire issue of battles inside the Wet’suwet’en family, all the discord, all the tears and family disunity, its all engineered as part of the intentional direction to extort a deal from Canada and British Columbia in the name of “reconciliation” all as part of the advice given to the Office of Wet’suwet’en in 2009. So is it a coincidence the Office of Wet’suwet’en started supporting the blockades around the same time, or was it following a directive?
So now we have a man who is clearly in a position of conflict doing that hardball negotiations?
Keep in mind the above advise is talking about the Wet’suwet’en Land Claims Overlap as its a very serious issue.
This is of such significant importance, read it again if it helps you understand this is not a coincidence, this is a plan/plot being carried out.
Ok now onto the question of legitimacy as a Wet’suwet’en Hereditary Chief
The title of Chief Woos belongs to Darlene Glaim, she received it in a legitimate passing on of title from Roy Morris, Sr who passed away March 11, 2011. Chief Woos was the hereditary chief for Casyex House in the Gitdumden Clan.
Then I want to bring your attention to a book “Niwhts’ide’nı̈ hibi’it’ën – Ways of Our Ancestors” that the Office of Wet’suwet’en had published as an education tool for local schools. Once again they too admit there are normally four feasts held, now lets review all of the existing Hereditary Chiefs and see who among them followed the rules, and who did not.
Take the time to read what was said by those original hereditary chiefs that testified at the Delgamuukw trial, the truth is here, in their own words.
To establish what the rules really are let us review what was said in the Delgamuukw testimony entered by Mary Joseph on December 7, 1988 in the Supreme Court of British Columbia. References see https://open.library.ubc.ca/collections/delgamuukw/items/1.0018481 or see it below.

Question.
All right. Now, when someone in a Wet’suwet’en house who has passed away, is the name given to the person in the house who makes the largest contribution at the feast?
Answer.
When a person passes away, whoever contributes the most is considered as the successor.
Question
All right. And does the name — if the person that contributed the most was in the same clan but in a different house, would they get the name?
Answer.
It’s always when a person passes away; it’s always the person in the same house.
DID YOU READ THAT WARNER NAZIEL & FRANK ALEC?
The following is from the Office of Wet’suwet’en’s own website, rules they prove NOT to follow.
Was this one for the storybook effect, in order to dupe the public and media?
Becoming a Hereditary Chief
Before nonnative contact, a Wet’suwet’en heir began their journey to becoming a hereditary chief while still inside the mother’s womb. Elders, Shaman’s and Chiefs would often feel the womb of an expectant mother and determine if the baby was destined to be a future Chief or Shaman. From the time of birth the child would be groomed or tutored to be a wise, strong and responsible leader. The child would start off with the following succession of feast names:
Birth name
Baby name
Child’s name
Adolescent name
Adult name
Sub Chief name
Wing Chief
Head Chief name
Before a person received a high-ranking chief name, they would have to travel into the wilderness to live with the animals for an extended period of time. They would learn the ways of the animal world before returning to the community to assume a Chief name. When they returned, they would have to demonstrate what they have learned. This exercise exposed the prospected chief to the human world as well as the animal world. Thus ensuring he or she had the utmost respect for both.
Refer back to that list of names, how in the world does a man growing up inside of the Lake Babine Indian Band, work his way up that list to become one of 13 Hereditary Chiefs? Its not plausible, its not rational so it can only mean its manipulation. Nothing about becoming a Wet’suwet’en Hereditary Chief applies in this case as Frank Alec grew up in the customs of the Lake Babine Indian Band.
In fact so much so that in 1999 when Frank Alec was charged and pled guilty to domestic assault, which he committed in 1998, Frank Alec was sentenced to nine months of incarceration, but his trial and sentencing was not held in a traditional courtroom, but in a “sentencing circle.” Community members sentenced Alec to a curfew and 150 hours of community service over three years. Now the important part is they were NOT Wet’suwet’en, they were members of the Lake Babine Indian Band, so what does that tell you other than he never served a legitimate sentence for brutally beating his wife?
So the question is who does this fit in the case of Frank Alec who grew up and was schooled as a Lake Babine Indian Band member, then went on in most of his adult life as a Lake Babine Indian Band member, we do know his mother came from Moricetown, that she was also a Wet’suwet’en, we also know his mother was from the Gitdumden Clan, what we do not know at this time is if she was from the Casyex house group or that of Anaskaski house group or the Keexwinits house group. Why does it matter? Because if he is from the last two house groups then he is not qualified to be a member of the Casyex house group. Once we find out we will amend this article to reflect that truth.
Remember this all came about as a unceremonious fit of rage by John Ridsdale who considers himself the head of the table of the Wet’suwet’en Hereditary Chiefs, to replace Darlene Glaim for daring to negotiate with CGL without his specific consent.
